Admission

Admission is a screening process.

The process

Four steps, and a real decision at the end of them.

Every programme requires an application. This is a screening process, not a formality, and applications are declined.

The form below takes about fifteen minutes. Some of the questions are personal. They are part of a screening process that exists for your safety, and your answers are confidential.

Nothing is charged at application. No card details are taken here, no deposit is requested, and a declined applicant pays nothing.

01

Application

A written form: your circumstances, what you are looking for, and a health and history screening. The screening asks direct questions about psychiatric history, current medication, experiences of psychosis, mania or dissociation, substance dependence, and recent bereavement or trauma. Please answer them accurately. Nothing here disqualifies you automatically; incomplete answers may.

02

A conversation

A call with a member of our teaching team, usually about thirty minutes. We are establishing two things: whether this format is appropriate for you, and whether the work addresses what you actually want. Either of us may conclude that it does not, and either of us may say so.

03

A decision, within five working days, with a reason

You will receive a written decision within five working days of the conversation, and it will contain a reason. If we decline, we say why, and where there is somewhere more appropriate we will point at it. A decline is a judgment about fit and safety. It is not a diagnosis, and we are not qualified to give one.

04

Enrolment

On acceptance, a deposit secures your place or your dates. The balance falls due before the programme begins — we do not take the full fee up front. The full Terms and the full Refund and Cancellation Policy are provided to you in writing before any payment is taken.

This is training, not treatment. Our programmes are education in a set of skills. They are not medical care, psychotherapy, counselling, or psychological or psychiatric treatment, and they are not a substitute for any of them. We make no health or performance claims. If you are receiving treatment, please do not change or stop it because of anything you learn here.
Why we decline

A screening process that never declines anyone is not a screening process.

Intensive work with attention is not appropriate for everyone, and the published literature on adverse effects is clear enough that screening is a safety requirement rather than a sales step.

We decline against written criteria, consistently, knowing that each decline costs us a booking. We would rather decline ten people who would have been fine than admit one who would not.

Certain psychiatric histories

Recent or current psychosis or mania, recent psychiatric hospitalisation, a current severe episode, or a diagnosis where an intensive format carries elevated risk. Often the answer is “not now” rather than “not ever”.

Applicants in acute crisis

Bereavement, assault or a comparable event in the recent past. Periods of quiet and reduced distraction can bring difficult material to the surface, and a crisis is the wrong moment for that.

Anyone seeking treatment

If you are hoping this will address a health, psychological or emotional difficulty, we are the wrong provider — and using an intensive programme instead of care can make things worse. We will say so, and where we can, we will point somewhere better.

Anyone not here voluntarily

If an employer, a partner or a family member is requiring this of you, that is a safety issue rather than an administrative one. We will ask to speak with you privately, and we will usually decline.

A previous difficult experience

A serious adverse reaction to intensive contemplative practice, breathwork or a comparable experience is the single clearest predictor in this literature, and the question most often not asked. A “yes” leads to a conversation, not an automatic decline.

Anyone looking for a community

There is no doctrine here, no membership, nothing to join and no lineage. If that is what you are looking for, we are simply not it, and it is better said now.

Honesty never costs you money. If something you tell us means we cannot admit you — at application, or at any point before the programme begins — everything you have paid is refunded in full, including the deposit. That rule exists precisely so that nobody has a financial reason to conceal anything.

The application

About fifteen minutes. Answer in your own words rather than in the words you think we want. There is no advantage to rushing this.

  1. You

  4. Confirm

Four steps, about eight minutes. Nothing is sent until you press Submit on the last one, and your contact answers are kept on this device so you can come back to it.

About you
Step 1 of 4 · nothing is sent yet

You are applying for

Read by our clinical adviser and one named administrator. Never by instructors, never by anyone in a sales capacity. Held separately from our ordinary business systems.

You will hear back within five working days, in writing, with either a time for the screening conversation or a decline with a reason. Nothing is payable at any stage of this process, and a declined applicant pays nothing.

Step 4 of 4 · a copy is emailed to you immediately

Your answers are processed by Atma Clarity LLC as described in our Privacy Policy. Health screening responses are held separately from our ordinary business systems, restricted to two named people, never placed in a customer record, never used for marketing, and deleted 90 days after a programme ends — or 12 months after a decision, where we do not admit you.

If you would rather talk first

Some applications begin with a conversation.

If you would prefer to speak to someone before completing a form — or if you are applying on behalf of a board, a partnership or a family office — the client office will arrange it.
